The Novelists

The Novelists CD Release backstory

“I’ve had the pleasure of hearing The Novelists perform live.  They are gifted songwriters and talented musicians with strong lead voices. This is a band with lots of heart & soul.”– Daryl Stuermer (Genesis, Phil Collins)

“The thing about The Novelists is that there is no weak link.  You hear it in their fine debut CD “Backstory,” and it’s confirmed in their live performances.  Every member of this four-piece band is a gifted, singer, songwriter, and musician.  Together they create something very special.” -Peter Finch (KGO/KFOG Radio San Francisco)

The Novelists formed in July 2011 when four dedicated musicians from four different states came together craving four-part harmonies on a backdrop of guitars, piano, and a stand up bass. On stage Eric Andersen, Megan Slankard, Joel Ackerson, and Zach Teran create a modern folk rock with rotating lead vocals that captivates even veteran concert goers. The band’s debut album “Backstory” premiered in 2012 and its sequel “The Book Club” was an intensive 24-song project in which the band wrote, recorded, mastered, and released two songs per month to fans for the entire 2013 year.

The Novelists have spent 2012 and 2013 performing for audiences across the United States including:
Cowboys Stadium (Dallas, TX),
Americana Music Festival (Virginia City, NV),
